SIM Technology recently announced it has signed an MoU with Bird to supply mobile phones. In addition to the 260,000 MP3 mobile phones it will supply to Bird at the beginning of August, it will supply an extra 240,000 units by the end of September. Also, starting in the third quarter, SIM Technology will provide Bird with 500,000 mid-range and high-end MPEG-4 mobile phones, leading to forecasts that the total number of phones supplied to Bird by SIM Technology will break one million units in the spring of 2006.
